The Bishop Canevin Softball Team lost their section opener at home on Wednesday afternoon to South Side Beaver 11-0 in a 6 inning game at home.
South Side scored three runs in the top of the first inning to take the lead. The Crusaders loaded the bases in the bottom half of the inning after Alysha Cutri singled with one out, but Canevin couldn’t bring anyone home.
BC left five runners on base in the first four innings before Bella DeMark singled to lead off the fifth. Both DeMark and Cutri have had hits in both games for Canevin this season.
Cutri also struck out four from the pitchers mound. Trinity Anselm lead off the sixth with a single and Cameran Lokaitis reached on an error, but all three runners were stranded to preserve the shutout for the Rams.
The Crusaders stay in section play on Friday afternoon when they travel to Rochester to face the Rams. Game time is scheduled for 4 PM.
