The Bishop Canevin Softball Team lost at South Side Beaver in a six inning game on Monday afternoon, 13-3. The Rams remain unbeaten in section play.

BC didn’t take long to score the first two runs of the game. Bree Bazeck singled with one out in the top of the first inning. She scored when Meadow Lokaitis doubled. Lokaitis scored when Alysha Cutri followed with an RBI single.

South Side put three runs on the board in the bottom of the first inning. The Crusaders came back to tie the game in the second inning. Bazeck connected for her second hit in the game’s first two innings with a two-out single, which scored Bella DeMark.

The Rams broke the game open with a six-run second inning. DeMark doubled to lead off the fifth inning and Josie Bocchichio singled in the sixth inning but the Crusaders were unable to bring home another run. With their hits in the game, both Cutri and DeMark extended their hitting streaks to eight games on the season.

BC drops to 3-3 in section play, 3-5 overall. They stay in section to play another group of Rams, Rochester. The game is scheduled for a 4 PM start at Meyer Middleton Field on Wednesday afternoon.
