The Bishop Canevin Hockey team lost to Carrick 7-4 on Monday night at the Ice Castle. It was the Crusaders’ first regulation loss of the season.
It was Canevin’s first game in two weeks and the Crusaders fell behind 5-0 before scoring late in the second period. Ian Lecker scored his 7th goal of the season. Turner Anselm had one of his two assists on the goal and BC trailed 5-1 after two periods.
Canevin continued the comeback in the third period. Ryan Saginaw scored his 7th goal of the season to cut the lead to 5-2. Braehm Brown added an assist. Saginaw also added an assist as BC got within 6-4 before a Carrick empty net goal in the final minute gave the Raiders a 7-4 decision.
Bishop Canevin is now 6-1-2 on the season. They still have a two point lead over Neshannock and Wilmington in the North Division. Their next game is Thursday, February 4 against Trinity at the Ice Castle. Game time is scheduled for 9 PM.
