The Bishop Canevin Girls Soccer team scored three goals in the first 12 minutes and Ainsley Smith tallied a hat trick as the Crusaders cruised to a 6-1 win at Aquinas Academy on Wednesday afternoon.
Emma Sysak started the scoring in the game’s third minute. Smith and Sarah Barron added goals to give BC a 3-0 lead after 12 minutes. Aquinas did score to cut the lead to 3-1 at halftime. It’s only the third goal allowed by BC in eight games this season.
Lauren Kirsch drew a penalty in the 10th minute of the second half. Smith converted the penalty kick for a 4-1 lead. Erin Egan scored and Smith got her third goal of the game to complete the scoring at 6-1.
BC remains unbeaten at 6-0-2 and in first place in their section. Their next game is Saturday afternoon at Youthtowne Field against Winchester-Thurston. Game time is scheduled for 2 pm. Sam Hall will be on BCSN with the broadcast starting at 1:45 pm.
