The Bishop Canevin Boys Basketball team jumped to an early lead and never looked back in Friday Night’s PIAA First Round Playoff at Slippery Rock University. Kevaughn Price had 28 points to lead the Crusaders to an 87-35 victory over District 10 Champion Commodore Perry.
The Crusaders needed only four minutes to earn a 10-2 lead. Price scored 12 of his game high points in the first quarter. Canevin lead 21-9 after one quarter.
The Panthers were never able to handle the Canevin pressure and turnovers lead to more opportunities and baskets. The lead was 29 at the half and the running clock was turned on as the Crusaders pushed the lead to as many as 40 points in the thrid quarter.
Along with Price’s 28 points, Dom Elliott and Nevan Crossey each added 11 points for Canevin.
